Classical Freudian theories tell us that our drives are based on sex and agression: existentialism looks at what’s even further than that. We might not remember the first time we thought about it as children, but it’s there, everyday, and we find ways to manage it.

Our brains are constantly creating strategies for escapism, the Terror Management Theory is everlasting.

But it’s always there. Lurking. Guiding us. A dictatorship that we seem to be blind to. An invisible, soft dictatorship. A Dictabranda.
